　　Junwei has an elder maternal cousin, Li Xiaoyou, who dreams of setting up his own business. Thus, he goes into the business of reconditioning old items. However, the rag-and-bone business is a sunset industry. How can it be revived? Junwei decides to turn “old” into “chic”. For instance, a chair with a broken leg becomes a “three-legged” chair, or an old refrigerator is turned into a wardrobe. Surprisingly, the business starts to boom on these creative ideas.

　　Qingshan has been secretly in love with Junwei’s elder sister for years and quietly watches over her. Qingshan’s father once made a living as a “letter-writer”. Qingshan picks up the skill. When Cailing is abroad, Qingshan writes regularly to her and eventually moves her heart. He draws inspiration from the correspondence to start a letter-writing service to comfort the soul. To his surprise, the business thrives. It turns out that in the drudgery of life, everybody yearns to be comforted.

　　Junwei bumps into Jiang Wen one day, and vows to avenge his father. He pretends to help Jiang Wen redesign his lanterns so that they become a novel decorative household ornament. His real motive is to make Jiang Wen bankrupt. Junwei’s plan proceeds smoothly but is exposed by Jiang Wen. Feeling guilty towards Junwei and his family, Jiang Wen expresses remorse. Junwei buries his hatred for Jiang Wen by helping him. The idea of displaying lanterns as ornaments is a success, but Jiang Wen reveals his true colours. He had pretended to be remorseful to make use of Junwei. For someone who prides himself on being smart, this costly mistake is such a big blow to Junwei that he almost gives up his dream. After much encouragement from people around him, Junwei finally picks himself up to continue pursuing his dream.

　　Zheng Huixin, the daughter of Qingshan’s prison mate, is intellectually disabled. Out of pity, Cailing gets Huixin to help her at the food stall. Inspired by her compassion, everyone expands the food stall into a small eatery that hires specifically intellectually-disabled individuals, and initiates the “pay food forward” movement. (Note: A customer pays for extra food items which are made available free to the needy). The eatery thus becomes a charitable business.

　　Li Yi discovers that Siyi is hiding the fact that she is Zhu Haitao’s granddaughter. He feels that she is unkind and breaks up with her in anger. Junwei, realising that he still feels for Siyi, reconciles with her. But his mind is distracted whenever he is with Siyi. It turns out that struggling together with Xueqin in her business has made him develop feelings for her. Siyi perceives the change in Junwei and withdraws from the relationship dejectedly. Li Yi, who has been unable to give up Siyi, woos her again. Siyi, however, is reluctant to make a decision while in an emotional turmoil. On Xueqin’s part, she has no courage to accept Junwei’s love after being hurt once.
